Here it is! Flex Splash bombs off Wiz’s first single off O.N.I.F.C., Work Hard, Play Hard. The track is produced by Benny Blanco and Stargate, who also produced his first hit single Black & Yellow. Can this live up to it?

After debuting the first official single off his Sophomore album O.N.I.F.C. in San Francisco the other night, word is Young Khalifa is preparing to release Work Hard, Play Hard later today. Keep it locked!

Music: Mac Miller – The Grow Op

On 04/21/2012, in Music, by Obese

Mac man serves up the intro to TreeJay and DJ Clockwork’s The Grow Op mixtape. They dropped this yesterday in celebration of 4/20, but I gotta take a late pass. It’s all good though, because I know y’all are still smokin’! Cop the full tape here.

Last night in NYC Wiz Khalifa held a listening session for his upcoming mixtape Taylor Allderdice at Jungle City Studios. The whole gang was in the building including Juicy J, Mac Miller, Chevy Woods, Sledgren, Cardo and more. Wiz started the evening off by welcoming us to the session and telling us this project has music you can cook, clean, smoke, drink, and even iron to. He then invited everyone to take a listen, eat, drink and come smoke with him throughout the evening stating “Nothing is off limits.” Cups of blunt-like-joints, gin, beer, Ciroc, wings and pizza were all over the place as the Taylor Gang leader was more than gracious. He never told us any song names or production credits, he just hit play. I swear this was a party, not a listening session. It felt like an episode of DayToday. The tape really sounds like Khalifa has taken his music back to exactly what we came to love him for in the first place. It reminds me a lot of Kush & OJ, with an updated sound. I actually enjoyed this tape more than his album Rolling Papers to be honest. Looking forward to listening again on March 13th.

Yea, I know what your thinking, wasn’t Big Sean number 9 yesterday? Yup. Big Sean is now number 8. Blame MTV

Wiz Khalifa stays high, so as expectations for his debut album, Rolling Papers, shot through the roof, the Pittsburgh rapper made good by delivering a gold-selling LP last March — with multiple hit singles to back it. That success and more was enough to take him from MTV’s 2010 Hottest Breakthrough MC to the Hottest MCs in the Game VII list.

Not only did the Taylor Gang general snag the #2 spot on the Billboard 200 in his first week out — behind Britney Spears — he also dropped a collaborative album with Snoop Dogg (Mac & Devin Go to High School), blessed fans with the Cabin Fever mixtape, and sold out shows around the world on his Rolling Papers Tour. When it was all said and done, the Kush and Orange Juice spitter clocked in a reported $11 million and snagged the #11 spot on Forbes’ Hip-Hop’s Top Earners list.

That momentum lost hurts. He needs to redeem himself with a great Sophomore album. I think we can all agree on that.

Video: Wiz Khalifa – DayToday (Miami)

Wiz and the Taylor’s take their talents and a lot of weed to Miami in the latest episode of DayToday. Watch them go yachting while Juicy J turn’s up and catches an early morning gin face before hand. Love these.

I know I wasn’t the only one scratching my head when I saw O.N.I.F.C. was the name of Wiz Khalifa’s next album. Well, he finally puts the rumors to rest on Sway In The Morning via MTV

“It’s the Only N-Word in First Class. It’s inspired by Prodigy’s H.N.I.C. When he dropped that, I felt like that sounded so strong.”

I was just talking about me being a young rich dude and being black. It looks crazy to them when I walk up to them and show them my ticket or I’m going in priority seating, They’re like ‘You’re sure?’”

I guess. I dunno how that’s really marketable. Oh well, what do I know anyway. Moving on.

So did Mac Miller’s hood card just go up or did Cam’s go down? No beef. I’m just sayin this is an odd, yet nice collab from the Pittsburgh emcee and Harlemite. Mac said he made a song with Killa and it hasn’t been released until today, from the man himself. FratRap hits us tomorrow.
