Numonics says…For the past month, I’ve been accepting submissions for a short film contest for my album The (Instru)Mentalist. The winner, Pedro Zimann of Portugal, did an excellent video to “My Other Love” and won $500 and a prize pack from clothing brand Last Rights for his efforts.

I was blessed to be a part of the process of this album and the final product delivered. J NICS is a raising star in this game out of Miami, Florida and you should enjoy his ride to the top. My Third pick for favorite albums of 2012 is J NICS The Product from the Southern Niggas Ain’t Slow series. J NICS is a rappers rapper. He’s got the look, he’s got the sound, he’s from Miami, and his music is powerful and thought provoking. Stereotypically a southern artist has certain content when they make songs but not J NICS. From track to track NICS uses audio from Southern icons that tell their similar stories of failures and the road to success. Quailty is something that NICS and the Last Rights team does not lack, and I am highly anticipating the DARKSIDE release on December 11th. In the meantime, listen to The Product so you can be in the loop. When this guy blows up in 2013, just know I told you so.

How are we talking about you not knowing who J NICS is???!? Luckily The Capture sums up the man, the myth and the legend with this video.
“The Capture” recently got to spend some time with J NICS in his home town of Miami and on the road while he was working on the “DarkSide” project with DJ Burn One. As he travels through Florida, Atlanta, Texas, Philly and NewYork; NICS talks about his past creative experiences and how each of those steps have helped him and his music grow. We also get an inside look at J NICS and DJ Burn One’s creative process for DarkSide, set to be released December 11th.
