MTV is really chopping this Jay-Z interview into the smallest clips possible. I guess when you sit down with Hovie though, you gotta milk it for all that it’s worth. Listen to him speak on one of his Roc Nation aritsts, Rita Ora, and the energy and excitement he say’s is unlike any other.
Continuing his talk with MTV, Jay-Z speaks on the new Brooklyn Nets logo and says he used the New York subway signs for his inspiration.
“I wanted to make it really classic and strong; a throwback to Brooklyn and what we’re about. It’s real gritty and we’re not about flash — well, sometimes. Just the roots of Brooklyn as this very bold, strong, simple logo.
It was really a take off the old subway signs, if you look at the old subway signs they were in black and white. It was that strong, beautiful, iconic black and white. I wanted to pick something that would stand the test of time and be here forever.”
During Jay-Z’s press conference for his upcoming Philadelphia festival, Made In America, he spoke with MTV about Jay Electronica’s Act II album. He tells them the project is still coming and that the lyrics are “scary good.” When will we actually receive the album though?
Do you agree with Rick Ross being number 1? Why was Young Jeezy left out? Does Jay-Z deserve to be higher on this list? Does this list matter at all? Check out the full list below and let us know your thoughts. Next year they really need to name this Most Popular Artist Of The Following Year. All I’m saying is there are a few people on here who I wouldn’t put in the “MC” category. *Kanye Shrug*
#1 Rick Ross
#2 Drake
#3 Kanye West
#4 Nicki Minaj
#5 Lil Wayne
#6 Jay-Z
#7 Meek Mill
#8 Big Sean
#9 Wiz Khalifa
#10 Wale
Wooooow! Landing at number 6 on MTV’s Hottest MC list is umm… Jay-Z, who apparently didn’t have a great year like some of us expected. In the video above, MTV lets you know exactly why he landed on the number 6 spot and not higher.
“If you talk about the Throne, yeah, top five, no question. But Jay himself? From January to August, what was going on?” asked Rahman Dukes, MTV News’ director of hip-hop news, pointing out Jigga’s inactivity apart from WTT. “Kanye was moving.”
The truth is, outside of WTT, Hov didn’t do the kinds of things that help an MC bolster his stats. Instead, the rap mogul was focused on his many business ventures — from his Brooklyn-bound Nets to re-launching the 40/40 Club in New York. Although few could argue that when he released “Glory,” days after the birth of daughter Blue Ivy Carter, he created quite the musical moment.
Previous: 10. Wale 9. Wiz Khalifa 8. Big Sean 7. Meek Mill
Taking only two weeks to complete this project like Jay-Z did with The Blueprint. Connor goes in on a ton of old Jay-Z beats from all of The Blueprints with DJ Green Lantern on hosting duties. I love this mans appreciation for the older heads. He still makes classics sound like classics. Blue City Club! Hit the jump for download, tracklist and stream. Enjoy.

Drake was supposed to originally appear on the official version of I Do, but for some unknown reason he didn’t. So here is the alternate version with a verse from Drizzy, courtesy of Young Sav.
It’s finally here! The video you’ve all been waiting for has arrived in big fashion. All those Jay-Z “AGAIN” shouts had a purpose. They took footage from the Watch The Throne Tour and turned the movie they lived on the road into some cinema for you to go guerrillas to. Don’t catch a seizure. This shit cray!
Sans Trey Songz, Young Simba hit Late Night With Jimmy Fallon last night and ran through his new single Can’t Get Enough. One of my favorite topics in the Hip-Hop community is the face that J. Cole has yet to take a picture with the man who signed him, Jay-Z. Just thought I’d throw that out there.
Shouts: yardie

I’m not a huge fan of Joe Budden, but i have to admit, he spit hella bars over Jay-Z and Kanye’s No Church In The Wild. Here you go, you can hear for yourself. Keep releasing more shit like this Mouse!
