Happy Birthday To Us!!!

On 05/30/2012, in News, by Obese

We are officially one year old today and I just wanted to make a quick post to thank all of our daily visitors, fans, supporters and family! We work hard daily to keep you up to date on the latest in Hip-Hop and R&B and will continue to bring you more exclusives as we move forward. In the coming weeks look for a new layout, a new section for unsigned artists to gain exposure, as well as a mixta…opps, can’t let that one out of the bag just yet. The past year was huge for us and we got to experience a lot of things that we could have only dreamed of when we started. If for some crazy reason you thought we were done, I apologize. Were just going to continue to live our brand and BombOnEm!

Every year on this day we give the world a contact high. Most of the people celebrating the 41 year old “unofficial” holiday of 4/20 enjoy their cannibus year ’round. Hell, some of you even get do it legally. There is just something special about this day that has everyone coming together to recognize their favorite mood elevator and inhale/ingest as much of it, in the craziest ways, as possible. Now were not reinventing the wheel here by dropping a tape of random weed songs you already have. We just figured we’d let you know we are celebrating with you too, and we wanted you to have a soundtrack for your day, which we cleverly call, Hits From The Bomb. Thank us after you sober up. Remember, we can’t please everybody, but these are some of our favorites! Continue reading for the tracklist. Then put it in your pipe (iPod) and smoke it (press play).

As much as Ryshon will tell you this is a just a loose song, it’s much more than that. He’s breaking free of his “dark/emo” tag that the industry has labeled him with and proving his skill set is much more than you originally thought. I guess that’s what you get for thinking! Look for this on his upcoming mixtape Basquiat which will drop exclusively here on BombOnEm. Three releases in three days with no signs of letting up only means more good news for us. Also keep it locked for his EP Shonny Darko (Po Diss Head) to follow the tape, with the album Fuck My Job: Life In Reverse dropping at the end of Summer on iTunes.

New Jersey native CHRIS BUCK is the latest emcee to start a series with us here on BombOnEm. Today we bring you the appropriately titled first edition of Forty Ounce Friday’s. This Ain’t My Dream is produced by the multi-talented producer Rollin Mills and lives on the upcoming 4/20 release of Beers For A Hustler. Drink it in!

You make beats? Like Hip-Hop? Drink Alcohol? Well, if your in Austin at SXSW on Friday March 16th, Beats, Rhymes & Alcohol is where you want to be! It’s a good old fashioned beat battle and producer showcase. Speaking of, there are still producer slots available! Contact me for more details! We will be a sponsor at the event along with Digiwaxx, SMKA, iStandard and more. In the evening, Playboy Tre & Sean Falyon will be serving up Premium Tequila courtesy of Espada and a Keg. They along with Stanza, Lyriciss, BIGREC, El Prez, Grip Plyaz, Tuki, Big Floaty and Matthew Ragazino will be hitting the mic during the Red Cup Party. It’s a celebration! Be there from 1pm-7pm. Say whattup when you see us!

Last night in NYC Wiz Khalifa held a listening session for his upcoming mixtape Taylor Allderdice at Jungle City Studios. The whole gang was in the building including Juicy J, Mac Miller, Chevy Woods, Sledgren, Cardo and more. Wiz started the evening off by welcoming us to the session and telling us this project has music you can cook, clean, smoke, drink, and even iron to. He then invited everyone to take a listen, eat, drink and come smoke with him throughout the evening stating “Nothing is off limits.” Cups of blunt-like-joints, gin, beer, Ciroc, wings and pizza were all over the place as the Taylor Gang leader was more than gracious. He never told us any song names or production credits, he just hit play. I swear this was a party, not a listening session. It felt like an episode of DayToday. The tape really sounds like Khalifa has taken his music back to exactly what we came to love him for in the first place. It reminds me a lot of Kush & OJ, with an updated sound. I actually enjoyed this tape more than his album Rolling Papers to be honest. Looking forward to listening again on March 13th.

Leave it to Ryshon Jones to keep us in the dark. What we have here is a mixtape trailer for a new project entitled Happily Unhappy. When does it come out? Soon, from what we know. What can we expect? The unexpected! Much like his Friday EP, this will feature The Weeknd sample based music, on another level that is. Peep the trailer above and see if you see some things that might be a little out of the ordinary on a usual night at Homebass Studios. No, your speakers aren’t broken either. It’s a little too quiet inside the mind of Ryshon Jones. Happily Unhappy coming soon. Brightest Nights, Darkest Days is available now.

Ryshon Jones says about the project…

I’m getting ready to release a mixtape entitled Happily UnHappy. The mixtape plays as a follow up to the Friday EP from September. The mixtape is set to drop any day now. Below is the official video trailer to get people in the mood for whats to come. The release date will be revealed shortly.
