Ok relax. I didn’t put up one of my favorites for a few days but here is the next one. For my next pick of favorite indie albums of 2012 is Ryshon Jones Basqui. This is an album that you can listen to front to back. The contrast between dope beats, and better lyrics is refreshing to hear in Hip-Hop. Mr. Jones doesn’t talk about what every other rapper does, but actually makes you think and definitely relate to the vibe.
Ryshon Jones unleashes another visual from his Basqui project, White Lines, produced by Sango. The visuals, shot and edited by Last Rights and Elephants Purple back in May, take us to a cemetery where we find the Philly emcee killing a memory, but still trying to recapture the feeling of a love lost. His new project In Theory is on the way and he says a new date will be announced soon, most likely after the next song is released. Look for the official In Theory documentary to follow as well.
What would you do with 24 hours? If your Ryshon Jones you have 40 Pills in your possesion and your steady trying to figure out who the man behind the mask is. A battle with his demons in an almost daydream like state, the video captures Ryshon’s words, giving them a life of their own. Is it real or are they all just a figment of his imagination? Slip into Mr. Jones world in visuals to the single off his most recent release Basqui and you can judge for yourself. Be on the lookout for the upcoming project Darko, coming this Summer.
Premiered By: The Smoking Section
On May 9th Ryshon Jones and The Smoking Section will bring you the Philadelphia emcee’s new video 40 Pills, off his acclaimed Basqui project. Go on set where we find Jones and his crew in an undisclosed field that looks to be in the middle of nowhere. We also get to know the now infamous Frank a little better, who takes a second out of his busy schedule to talk to the camera. Make sure you get that Basqui in your life and look for the new project Darko coming this summer! Directed by @MixedByJairo.
Ryshon Jones pays a visit to the Good*Fella Radio show on 90.3 the Core RLC-WVPH FM Piscataway, New Jersey. During the interview they hit on various topics including his Alaskan roots (ha!), Joe Budden, him being tagged an “emo rapper”, quitting his job to go to SXSW and concentrate on music, who else in Philly is poppin’ off, his eclectic taste in music, his favorite producers to work with, where he gets the emotion from that he spills in his songs, his latest project Basqui, building his buzz off the blogs and much much more! Shot and edited by MixedByJairo.
To keep your eyes on his Basqui project, Ryshon gives you some new music to remind you he’s still here. It has only been a whole week without a release from the young Philly emcee. If you can’t tell I’m being sarcastic. You definitely should have it in your life though, so after you peep this joint, head over here and make your life more complete. Look for a new video from Jones tomorrow, too.
